Lloyds Somers design & manufacture a range of bespoke Slab and Billet handling devices. The products range from Automatic Gravity Scissor Tongs for single slab handling, Hydraulic or Motorised Scissor Tongs for multiple slab packs, and Low Headroom Motorised Grabs for aluminium slab handling. All options can be fitted with powered rotation (slew) for fine positioning when engaging with and placing the item down.
As aluminium slabs are cast vertically, we have designed and supplied numerous Aluminium Slab Downending Grabs to the major aluminium producers for extraction and downending of the aluminium slabs from the casting pits.
